“We're here!” Shelby yelled standing up in her seat. They were driving for the last hour, everyone waiting to get off the bus.
18 friends moving into a house together--No parents. No one to tell you when you can go out or when you have to be home.
“Yes!” Liz yelled sharing in Shelby's excitement.
“Babez, this is gonna be fun.” Sasha said from her seat behind Shelby.
“Twinn---Have you talked to Lulu yet?” Briana asked Shelby in a hushed whisper.
“Nope.”
“You can't wait much longer.”
“I know this.” Shelby said as everyone started getting off the bus.
The boys walked into the house leaving the girls on the front lawn. 8 girls, 10 boys. The girls were out numbers---But they were used to that happening.
Shelby, Briana, Elizabeth, Sasha, Chanel, Jillian, Lexi, and Kassandra. “We need to stick together. We can't let them break us apart.” Sasha said looking around at each of them.
“We need to be there for each other—No matter what.” Shelby said as Bre and Liz took her hands. They were the only two to actually know what she meant by her statement.
“Shake on it?” Kassy suggested as her eyes met Lexi's.
“Yeah.” Nellz said looking at Jill.
They all shook on it and smiled. “Now lets get in there before they get all the good rooms.” Lexi said as they walked into the house.
The boys were sitting in the living room, all eyes turned to the girls when they walked in. Nellz walked to Norland, Sasha to Michael, and Lexi to Daniel.
Shelby looked at Litho and caught his smile. She then took Bre's hand and waited for someone to speak.
“How we doing rooms?” Drew asked.
“We should pick who we wanna sleep with.” Keith said with a smile.
Shelby laughed and looked at Bre. “If he comes over here and rooms with me then I'll tell him.”
Liz heard and quickly walked over to Litho. “Go asked Shibb to room with you.” She gently pushed him forward.
“What the fuck? Why?”
“She's your Wifey. Go. Who knows, you could get something out of it.” Liz winked at Litho and walked away.
Litho stood there, thinking. He wasn't sure if he was ready to make that commitment. Sure, it may seem like it was just a room—but he knew Shelby well enough to know that she'd see it as much more than just a room. It would be a commitment. A sign that he was ready to be with her and only here.
He took a deep breath and walked over to Shelby. “Hey.”
“Hey.” she replied with a smile.
“I'll go find a roommate.” Bre said walking over to Liz and Kassy.
“You got a roommate?” He asked, not sure how else to say it.
“Nope.” She couldn't help but smile around him. He brought out a side of her no one knew.
“You want one?”
Before she answered, she pulled him into a hug. She stood on her tiptoes and whispered in his ear. “I thought you'd never ask.”
Maybe he wasn't ready to be in a committed relationship, but he knew that he wanted to be with Shelby. To hold her close at night. He liked falling asleep with her in his arms, and waking up in her arms. They were good together and everyone knew it. “I love you.” Litho said, loud enough for only the people close to them to hear.
“Lets go pick a room.” Shelby said taking his hand and walking out of the living room.
Drew looked around the living room and seen Litho making his way over to Shelby. Ever since she got in the mix she's all Litho could talk about. Drew needed a break, an escape. What better way then to room with someone he knew wouldn't constantly talk about bitched. “Ace!” He yelled.
Alex looked over at Drew and seen Keith give him a look. “Yeah?” He asked once he walked over to Drew.
“Me and you Primo?”
“Iight.”
“Nelli.” Jill said walking over to Chanel and Norland.
“Yeah?”
“Room with me?”
“Can't. Norland already asked me.” Chanel replied. She could see Litho making his way over to Shelby and she smiled.
“Whatever.” And with that Jill walked away trying to contain her anger.
This is what always happened with the two of them. Whenever you added a boy into their lives the relationship between the two of them became rocky,. They started to drift apart and were constantly fighting.
But they always fixed thing. This was just another little fight...Right?
“Guess what I did.” Liz said to Kassy as Bre walked over to them.
“What?” Kassy asked looking over at Lexi and Daniel.
“I got Litho to go talk to Shibbii. And I didn't have to bribe him with a blunt or a shot.”
“Wait...you told him to talk to Shel? He didn't choose on his own?” Bre asked with a worried look on her face.
“Why does it matter?” Kassy asked.
“Right? He's rooming with Shibbz. She'll be happy.” Liz said.
“But id she finds out that you told Lu to asked her, she'll be pissed. You know that she's gonna think that he wanted to room with her—without someones help.”
“Fuck!” Liz said as Jill joined their group.
“I can;t stand them being together. That bitch stole my best friend.” She said, her gaze never leaving Chanel.
“My sentiments exactly.” Kassy mumbled, trying not to sound jealous.
“Fuck them. We just need each other.” Liz said.
“You sure about that?” Bre asked looking over at Shelby and Litho walking out of the living room.
She hesitated before answering, “Yes.”
it hasn't even been 24 hours and they were always turning on each other. It could only get worst.
“You like this room?” Shelby asked once her and Litho walked into their 3rd room.
“I don't know Shibbz, do you like it?”
“I liked the last two rooms. You're the one who sees something wrong.”
“They had too much sunlight. You know I like to sleep in—I can't do that with a lot of sunlight.”
“Well there's only one window in this room. We can get a curtain.” Shelby said sitting at the end of the bed. He looked at her and smiled. He could tell she was tired, and all she wanted was to lay down.
Litho walked over to her and pushed her to lay down. “I think this room is perfect.” And with that he kissed her.
Shelby leaned back and smiled. “I have something to tell you.” She sat up and looked at him.
“What?” He asked taking her hand.
She took a deep breath, afraid of his reply. “We're pregnant.” Shelby couldn't help but smile saying it. He was left speechless. “Say something.” Shelby said, her smile slowly fadding away.
“I don't know what to say Shibb.”
“Well are you excited?”
“No. Not at all. I'm not ready for a kid. Neither are you.”
“What are you suggesting?” Shelby asked letting go of Lu's hand.
“I don't think you should have this baby.”
“You want me to get an abortion?”
“Well...yeah.”
“How the fuck could you say that?”
“We're not ready Shel. We're not even officially together.”
“Luisto! You're 25! start acting it!” Shelby yelled standing up.
“I fucking am! I'm not ready to settle down and have a kid.”
“So I'm only good for fucking sex? That's all you want from me? Am I not good enough for you to start a fucking family with?”
“Shelby. It's not like that and you know that.”
“No, that's exactly how it is!” And with that Shelby walked out of the room, not wanting to look at Litho anymore.
“And then I was like, 'Get the fuck outta here'” Jill said as Shelby walked by the cracked door. She looked in and seen Jill, Kassy, Liz, and Bre.
“Can I have Bre and Liz for a sec?” Shelby asked trying to keep her composure.
“Sure.” Kassy said with a smile as Liz and Bre got up and followed Shelby to the back porch.
“What's up Wiferz?” Liz asked as Shelby took a seat on the steps.
“I told him.”
“What'd he say?” Bre asked, her and Liz smiling.
“He wasn't excited. He wants me to get an...” Shel took a deep breath. “Abortion.”
“HE SAID WHAT! IMMA KILL THIS BITCH!” Liz yelled quickly walking back into the house. “LUISTOOOOOOO!!!!” She yelled as he stepped into the hallway.
“What?” he asked. He looked sad, with the look of a lost child on his face.
“You told her to get an abortion? To kill the fucking baby you fucking made!” She was yelling, people started to crowd around. Everyone except Bre and Shelby.
“I'm not ready for a fucking baby Elizabeth!”
“And yet you're ready to fuck Shibb without a condom? If you're ready to do something stupid like that then you have to be ready for the fucking consequences Lu! You can't just fucking run away from this; take the easy way out!”
“Shelby's not ready!”
“She's not going to kill her baby!”
“Well I ain't taking care of it!” Litho walked into his room and slammed the door shut.
“You're fucking pathetic!” Liz yelled stomping downstairs.
Sasha looked at Nellz and they silently walked onto the back porch where Shelby, Bre and Liz were sitting.
“Babez, what's wrong?” Sasha asked sitting next to Shelby.
“He wants me to get an abortion.” Shelby looked at Sasha, eyeliner streaming down her cheeks.
“He said that?” Chanel asked.
“He implied it, so I asked if that's what he meant and he did.”
“Awww—Shibbz I'm sorry. You don't need him to help.” Sasha said putting her arm around Shelby.
'You're gonna make a great mom.” Liz said, he anger still noticeable.
“We're here to help you Twinn.” Bre said with a smile.
“MamaShibbz.” Nellz said as the girls smiled.
“It's his loss if he doesn't want to be a part of your beautiful baby's life. Remember that.” Sasha asked as Shelby stood up.
“Do you wanna switch rooms with me?” Liz asked.
“Nope. He'd gonna watch my baby grow, knowing he denied him/her.” And with that, Shelby walked into the house.
