Daniel had his arm around Shelby. He was her best friend and she needed him. He might not always be there when Shelby needs him; but he was going to be by her side now.
They walked into the house behind Sasha. Daniel looked at Shelby and asked if she wanted to go to her room.
“Pour me a shot.” Shelby replied pushing away from Daniel ans sitting on the couch.
:”Twinn, I don;t think drinking is going to help.” Bre said as Izzy shut the door.
“All I want to do is die Briana. I just want to be dead. That was only chance I'll ever have to have a child. To feel like I actually matter to someone. To feel like someone is counting on me. To actually be a mom. I'll never be able to feel any of that. So right now, I think I'll have a shot.” Shelby got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Keith, Ruga, Drew and Ace sat at the table, Drew rapping to a beat from his phone.
She looked at them and took the bottle of Smirtoff 100 proof vodka from Keith. “Shibbz. What are you doing?”
“i'm going to drink away the pain.” Without another word Shelby walked through the living room and up to her room/
“I'll go talk to her.” Sasha said walking down the hall. Bre and Liz silently agreed to follow behind. “Shibbz.”
“What?” Shelby asked lifting the bottle to her mouth.
“Do you really think this will help?? that drinking is going to allow you to cope?”
“How the fuck am I supposed to know?”
“Talk to us Shel.” Bre said sitting at the end of the bed.
“About what?” Shelby paused, taking another sip. She let it slide down her throat, the burning not bothering her. “About how I was stupid enough to actually believe that Lulu would be excited about a baby that we joked about when we were kids? About how stupid I was to think that moving in here would work out? About the hours, upon hours I spent crying over a bitch who doesn't want me? I know that commitment scares lulu—It scares me too. Or better yet,” Another sip. “Why don't we talk about the fact that I'm going to have to look at the monster who killed the only think I've ever wanted since I was 10? how I live with him. How I have to put up with him every day!”She stopped, this time chugging the vodka.
“You're not the only one who has ever lost a baby.” Sasha said looking at Shelby.
“Nope; but when you told Michael you were pregnant he didn't tell you to have an abortion./ and you Sasha, can still have kids. I CAN'T!” Shelby yelled putting the bottle up to her lips.
Without thinking Liz smacked the bottle out of Shelby's hand and watched it hit the wall. “You can drink until you die but I won't watch. It's fucking hard now but doing stupid shit like this makes it fucking worst!” And Liz left the room. She's seen first hand what alcohol does to a family. She wasn't going to sit back again.
Lulu sat at the couch once Sasha, Bre and Liz went to talk to Shelby. He knew drinking wouldn't help, but that didn't mean it wasn't tempting.
“She'll get through it.” Daniel said sitting in the recliner next to Lulu as Izzy sat on a bean bag.
“You don't know that.” Lulu replied.
“She gets through everything. She's tough. Always has been.”
“I don't want her to do it alone.”
“She's going to. When she falls down, you have to let her pick herself back up.” Daniel replied.
“All you can do is be there when she falls asleep and when she wakes up.” Izzy added.
“She's worth the fight. I promise you that. And she really does love you. So just protect her; that's all she really wants.” Daniel said.
“Get her a teddy bear. Girls love those.” Keith said remembering what Shelby once told him.
“Stay out of this!” Lulu shot.
“Woah buddy, back off.”
“I seen what you've sent Shibb. You've been trying to get with her since the day she turned 18.”
“And? She'd not your property.”
“You knew how I felt about her! You always have.”
“Then why not tell her Lulu? Do you know how long she'd waited for you to actually tell her how you feel about her? She thins you don't care. And honestly Litho—it seems like you don't.”
“I fo fucking care about her. More than you know.”
“Then fucking show her. Don't sit around her and act like she's any other chick.” Keith said as Liz walked into the living room.
“You have to do something about Shelby. She's fucking going in a downward spiral. And I don't know how to help her!” Liz said as Sasha and Bre joined them in the living room.
“She has to fix herself Liz—we can;'t do it for her.” Daniel said as Ruga, Drew and Ace walked into the room.
“I'm not going to sit back and let her fuck up! That's not what I fucking do!”
“They lose her! You're acting just like Vici—And where is she? Gone! If you push Shelby too much she's going to push back. And it won't be pretty.” Daniel said starting to stand up.
“So she's drinking a little—it's not gonna kill her.” Drew said laughing.
“Like you killed my kid!” Lulu yelled.
The tension in the room was high. There were problems. Problems that needed to be dealt with; maybe now was a good time for it to happen.
“I didn't kill your kid. Shelby fell. Maybe if she backed off and wasn't on your dick she wouldn't be where she is.” Drew said to Lulu.
“You're really trying to blame it on her? If you had just let shit go and left us alone this wouldn't have fucking happened.”
“You didn't even fucking want it—you told her to get an abortion. Guess you got your wish.” Drew said before he left the room.
“He;s a fucking bitch!” Liz said as Izzy left the room.
“It ain't like he doesn't have a fucking point. Lulu never wanted Shelby's baby; so he got what he fucking wanted. Karma's a bitch!” Daniel said staring at Lulu.
“Shut the fuck up! No one was even talking to your bitch ass.” Litho shot back.
“I don't care if you weren't talking to me. Shelby id my best friend and you fucking hurt her! It's your fault she was pregnant; your fault she was fighting with Andy; and your fault that she's never gonna get the one fucking this she wanted. So if there is anyone to fucking blame—It's you!” Daniel said drinking.
“Chill Litho, he said what he needed to say! Let's be done with it.” Keith said stepping in between Lulu and Daniel.
“Nah, fuck this. None of yall bitches got my back! You all tried to get with Shibbz.” Litho said standing up.
“Shelby doesn't belong to you! Maybe if you actually told her how you felt then she;d be with you. You can't blame you “boys” for tryna bag what you don't have the balls to do.” Briana said starting to get annoyed. She kept her mouth shut long enough. She wasn't going to sit back anymore.
“She speaks.” Lexi said laughing.
“I'm fucking done!” Lulu said walking out the front door.
“Sick of people telling you the truth?” Bre said rolling her eyes.
The truth comes out when you're drunk. When you're high shit comes out. When these people are pissed, lines are drawn and blows are thrown. Can they fix it?
